Ramadan Timetable 2027 London: Suhoor and Iftar Times

This Ramadan Timetable 2027 London gives you the Suhoor and Iftar times for every day of Ramadan 1448 AH. The first fast is expected on Monday 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting. On day one, Suhoor ends at 5:34am and Iftar is at 5:02pm. By day 30, Suhoor ends at 4:37am and Iftar is at 5:54pm.

Fasts in London will last about 11 and a half hours at the start and just over 13 hours by the end. Save this timetable and check it against your local mosque. Then plan your Zakat, Sadaqah and Fidya early, so your giving reaches families before Eid. At Human Concern UK, we have served people in need with dignity since 1980, and your Ramadan giving can bring the barakah of a full table to a family that needs it.

When Does Ramadan 2027 Start in London?

Ramadan 2027 is expected to start in London on Monday 8 February 2027, with the first Taraweeh on the night of Sunday 7 February.

Moon Sighting UK reports that the new moon is born on 6 February 2027 but will not be visible that evening. It expects the crescent to be visible across the UK to Morocco region on 7 February, which makes 8 February the most likely first fast. Your mosque will confirm the date once the moon is sighted.

How Are These London Times Calculated?

We calculated these times for central London using standard astronomical formulas. Suhoor ends at Fajr, which we set at the moment the sun is 18 degrees below the horizon. This is the Muslim World League convention. Iftar is at sunset.

We rounded every Suhoor time down and every Iftar time up to the nearest minute. This means the table never tells you to keep eating later, or break your fast earlier, than the calculated time. We also checked our figures against other published London timetables, and they agree to within one minute.

Some London mosques use a different Fajr angle or add a safety margin. If your mosque publishes its own timetable, follow your mosque.

What Time Should I Stop Eating Suhoor?

Stop eating and drinking before the Suhoor end time shown for your date. Allah sets the start of the fast at true dawn:

“And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread of night. Then complete the fast until the night.” (Al-Baqarah 2:187)

This ayah is the basis for every Ramadan timetable. The fast begins at Fajr and ends at sunset, which is why these two times matter most.

The Prophet ﷺ encouraged us not to skip this meal. He said, “Take Suhoor, for in Suhoor there is blessing” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1923). Even a few dates and a glass of water carry that barakah.

Many people finish a few minutes early. Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said the gap between the Prophet’s ﷺ Suhoor and the prayer was about the time it takes to recite fifty verses (Sahih al-Bukhari 1921). A short buffer of five to ten minutes is a sensible habit on busy mornings.

When Should I Break My Fast at Iftar?

Break your fast as soon as the sun has set, at the Iftar time shown for your date. The Prophet ﷺ said, “The people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1957).

So there is no reward in waiting after sunset. When the time comes, break your fast with dates or water, pray Maghrib, and then eat your meal.

How Long Are the Fasts in London in 2027?

London fasts will run from 11 hours 28 minutes on day one to 13 hours 17 minutes on day 30.

Each day, Fajr comes about two minutes earlier and sunset about two minutes later. That adds close to four minutes to each fast. Because Ramadan falls in late winter, the fasts are much shorter than the summer Ramadans many families remember. It is a good year to add extra Quran, Taraweeh and time with family.

When Are the Last Ten Nights and Laylatul Qadr in 2027?

If Ramadan starts on 8 February, the last ten nights begin at Maghrib on Saturday 27 February 2027.

Allah describes Laylatul Qadr in the Quran: “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months” (Al-Qadr 97:3). The Prophet ﷺ said, “Seek Laylatul Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2017).

In the Islamic calendar, the night comes before its day. The expected odd nights in London begin on the evenings of:

  • Saturday 27 February (21st night)
  • Monday 1 March (23rd night)
  • Wednesday 3 March (25th night)
  • Friday 5 March (27th night)
  • Sunday 7 March (29th night)

Many people give a set amount of Sadaqah on each of these nights, so that their giving falls on Laylatul Qadr, whichever night it is.

When Is Eid al-Fitr 2027 in London?

Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday 9 March if Ramadan lasts 29 days, or Wednesday 10 March if it lasts 30 days.

Zakat al-Fitr is due from every Muslim who can afford it, for themselves and their dependants. Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ ordered it to be paid before people go out to the Eid prayer (Sahih al-Bukhari 1503). Pay it in the last days of Ramadan, so it reaches families in time for their Eid.

How Can You Give During Ramadan 2027?

Ramadan is the month of generosity. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said the Prophet ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous in Ramadan (Sahih al-Bukhari 6).

Feeding others at Iftar carries a special reward. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever gives Iftar to a fasting person will have a reward like his, without that reducing the reward of the fasting person at all” (Jami at-Tirmidhi 807, graded Hasan Sahih by at-Tirmidhi).

Type of GivingWho Gives ItWhen to Give
ZakatMuslims whose wealth is above the nisab for a lunar yearAny time it is due; many choose Ramadan
SadaqahAnyone, in any amountEvery day, and on the odd nights
FidyaThose who cannot fast and cannot make up the days, such as through old age or long term illnessFor each missed fast
KaffarahThose who broke a Ramadan fast on purpose without a valid reasonAs soon as possible
Zakat al-FitrEvery Muslim who can afford it, for each member of the householdBefore the Eid prayer

Fidya is rooted in the Quran: “And upon those who are able to fast only with hardship, a ransom of feeding a poor person” (Al-Baqarah 2:184). Rulings on Fidya and Kaffarah can differ between schools, so ask a trusted scholar about your own situation.
