We collaborate closely with our local teams on the ground to identify children most in need. Selection is based on the following criteria:
Preference is given to female children.
We prioritise orphaned children living in vulnerable conditions, including those exposed to child labour, exploitation, trafficking, or domestic violence.
The monthly sponsorship cost is based on the average living expenses of a family in the region. Local teams ensure the amount is sufficient to cover essential needs such as food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and education.
If sponsorship is discontinued, the child becomes available for another sponsor. If a new sponsor is not immediately found, Human Concern UK will strive to maintain support for up to one year using Zakat funds.
All communication is facilitated through Human Concern UK to ensure child protection, privacy, and safety.
Yes. Donors may contribute additional gifts at any time to further support their sponsored child.
Yes. The Child Sponsorship Programme qualifies under eligible Zakat categories.
Due to strict child protection policies, in-person visits are not permitted. However, Human Concern UK may facilitate video calls where possible, depending on logistics and connectivity.
