In 1980, a group of compassionate individuals came together to establish Canada’s first Muslim relief organisation. The rest, as they say, is history.
And in 2023, we’ve expanded our reach by establishing a branch in the UK, continuing our global mission to support those most in need.
With hundreds of millions delivered in aid, thousands of orphans sponsored, and millions of lives saved during disasters, we take pride in our legacy.
However, we know our work is far from over. Driven by our vision, mission, and values, we remain committed to making the world a more just and equitable place for all.
For over 40 years, our leadership, staff, volunteers, and supporters have shared a vision for a world free from poverty and injustice. It’s an ambitious goal, but we believe it is one worth striving for. After all, we are God’s vicegerents on earth.
When we mobilise for emergency responses or assess areas in need, we embark on a mission to move families from crisis to sustainability.
Our goal is not to create dependence on aid but to empower communities to stand on their own, free from the need for external support.
We are dedicated to respecting and including all individuals in every aspect of our work. By fostering a culture of empowerment, we enable both our team members and the communities we serve to flourish.
We aim to build an accountable organisation that values transparency and honesty, both within our team and in our interactions with the communities we support.
We champion diverse perspectives, equal opportunities, and fair treatment within our organisation and in the communities we serve, striving for a world where all are treated justly.
We believe every human being is of equal worth and deserving of love, as it is through this compassion that we can help them achieve their full potential.
For more than four decades, Human Concern has been at the forefront of relief efforts in response to natural disasters, conflicts, and other emergencies across the globe. Our initiatives range from providing immediate aid such as food, shelter, and medical supplies, to implementing long-term development projects that help communities build resilience and achieve self-sufficiency.
We also prioritise collaboration with local partners to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most in the most effective and efficient way possible. Through these partnerships and our sustained relief efforts, Human Concern has made a profound and lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals and communities facing hardship and adversity.
Human Concern UK is one of the leading Muslim relief organisations in the United Kingdom, committed to fighting poverty and providing aid to those in need.
